    Description

    Ancient hominid (Homo erectus) stone hand axe from Tamanghaset, Algeria. Acheulian Age. About 500,000 years old.  Nearly perfect with excellent desert patina and a few handling marks.  Possibly quartzite.  About 7" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2".  Over 1 1/2 lbs.  From my personal collection.
